Unfortunately, investigative journalists are often sacrificed when news organizations hew to their bottom line. We need to investigate that. On the plus side, our School of Journalism and Mass Communications administers the annual Taylor-Tomlin Award for Investigative Journalism which recognizes the work done by South Carolina journalists who have made a difference through their reporting.
